If you are a Witch, the term ‘fluffy’ is banded about on a daily basis. The actual dictionary definition of ‘Fluffy’ is:
a. Of, relating to, or resembling fluff.b. Covered with fluff.
- Light and airy; soft: fluffy curls; a fluffy soufflé.
a. Light or frivolous: a fluffy musical comedy.b. Lacking depth or precision; fuzzy: hazy, fluffy thinking that only confused the matter.
Basically, a Fluffy is someone who ‘plays the part’ but has no real craft. An airy fairy wannabe.
Now, there are a lot of Trad Witches out there, who will say that all Wiccan’s are fluffy. Now, you have to admit, there are a few, but I have also met a few fluffy Trads – 😉 What they do not seem to realise that by being very anti-Wicca they are actually alienating a large proportion of the witch/pagan community. If you are banging on about deep dark spells all the time then you are probably trying too hard (and maybe trying to impress?) and that would actually make you a Wannabe.
Because I chose to have a giggle along the way, I have often been accused of being fluffy. This couldn’t be further from the truth. I just think life is hard enough as it is without making life harder and getting stressed over everything. Just because I do normal every day to day things and have a smile on my face, doesn’t make me any less of a Traditional Witch, it just means I have a sense of humour. Something of which I think a lot of people have lost these days.
The craft isn’t something you dip in and out of. It is your way of life. You don’t have to think about it, you are it. I am proud to be who I am and very proud to be part of a Trad Witch family, I am incredibly serious about my way of life but I just don’t see why I can’t bring a smile to others at the same time?
I even like the colour pink… *gasp!* 😉
